Shift Type: Schedule varies based on department needs (every other weekend required), 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM (Evening/Night shift)

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients promptly in a high-volume Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center
- Provide advanced emergency nursing care and perform unit-specific procedures
- Administer medications and manage infusions using Baxter pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to maintain continuity of care
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, coach peers, and provide constructive, real-time feedback
- Deliver an excellent patient experience using AIDET and respectful communication practices
- Support unit workflow by working with techs, triage staff, and unit clerks and floating within ED sections as needed
- Maintain unit board updates and keep patients and families informed throughout the visit
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or a high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Certifications required prior to or on hire: ACLS and BLS
- Additional certifications required on hire or within hiring timelines: PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Teamwork mentality and ability to coach and give feedback in real time
- Flexibility to work across all areas of the Emergency Department
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical judgment and emergency assessment skills
- Proficient documentation in Cerner
- Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE patient monitors
- Ability to manage high patient ratios and behavioral-hold scenarios
- Excellent communication, AIDET best practices, and patient-centered care skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume ED environment
- Coaching, mentoring, and teamwork abilities
