Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and stabilize patients quickly and confidently in a high-volume Emergency Department
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while using AIDET and continuous patient updates
• Collaborate with the ED team to manage patient flow, triage, and critical interventions
• Coach and offer real-time feedback to colleagues to maintain high standards of care
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner to support continuity and quality
• Operate unit equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors safely and effectively
• Follow stroke and trauma protocols in a comprehensive stroke center and Level 2 trauma environment
• Uphold unit guidelines, attendance policies, and the required dress code (navy scrubs)

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, and high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS required prior to start
• PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required prior to start; ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and give constructive feedback in real time
• Comfortable working all areas of the Emergency Dept and adapting to variable patient ratios

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and emergency nursing skills
• Proficient with Cerner documentation system
• Familiarity with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
• Knowledge of stroke and trauma protocols and rapid assessment tools
• Excellent communication skills using AIDET and patient experience best practices
• Ability to work quickly and calmly in a high-volume, fast-paced ED environment
• Skill in mentoring teammates and contributing to a collaborative culture
