Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity cardiovascular critical care for CVICU patients, including post-op CABG recovery
• Manage ventilators and titrate respiratory support to optimize patient outcomes
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring using Swan-Ganz and interpret invasive waveforms
• Care for patients with arterial lines, central lines and chest tubes with meticulous attention to detail
• Assist with and manage CRRT and Impella care when indicated
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and compliance
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families with clarity and compassion during critical recovery phases

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar)
• Strong ventilator management skills and experience with arterial/central lines and chest tube care
• BLS and ACLS required (ensure current certifications)
• CCRN and BSN are preferred and will be considered a plus
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Team-player attitude with excellent communication and critical thinking skills

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and respiratory support strategies
• Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring, Swan-Ganz interpretation and titration
• Experience with CRRT, Impella devices, and management of mechanical circulatory support
• Skilled in arterial and central line care and troubleshooting
• Competent chest tube management and post-op cardiac monitoring
• Familiarity with GE monitoring systems, EV1000/Hemispheres and unit-specific equipment
• Strong documentation practices and familiarity with Meditech EMR
