Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Day (On-call: stay late 1-2 times per week as needed)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in the operating room by preparing instruments, equipment, and the sterile field
- Support induction and intubation procedures and help position patients safely and effectively
- Perform skin prep and assist with large-bore IV starts and medication administration as directed
- Provide skilled assistance with arterial, central line, and epidural placement procedures
- Safely transport patients to and from the OR and coordinate handoffs with perioperative teams
- Document care accurately and efficiently in Cerner, and follow BCMA processes for medication safety
- Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied staff to ensure smooth workflow
- Work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while maintaining patient safety and professionalism
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience; critical care experience is required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with BCMA and strong documentation skills (Cerner) required
- PreOp, CVOR, or OR experience is a strong plus
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and communicate effectively across teams
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent; CST certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in perioperative instrumentation, sterile technique, and OR protocols
- Hands-on experience with BCMA workflows and electronic documentation (Cerner)
- Familiarity with GE Carescape monitoring and Fuji ultrasound equipment
- Skill in assisting with IV starts, arterial/central line support, and epidural procedures
- Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and clinical decision making
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork
