Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care setting to determine functional status and rehabilitation needs
• Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans to help patients regain independence
• Deliver therapeutic techniques and interventions across orthopedic, neurologic, and cardiopulmonary cases
• Document thoroughly and efficiently using Cerner PowerChart to ensure continuity of care
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, speech therapists, and rehab techs
• Communicate progress and plan of care clearly to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Use patient lifting equipment and safe mobility techniques to promote patient and staff safety

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience (acute care experience preferred)
• Experience or comfort with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patient populations is a plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary acute rehab environment

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient evaluation and care plan development
• Skilled delivering a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions
• Experienced with documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Knowledgeable in safe patient handling and use of lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove)
• Strong communication and care coordination skills across teams
• Ability to manage caseloads in an inpatient acute rehab setting
