Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care for MICU patients and their families
• Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory support confidently and safely
• Operate and monitor CRRT, SLED and EV1000 hemodynamic equipment as needed
• Perform and assist with invasive procedures such as central and arterial lines, chest tube insertions and lumbar punctures according to unit policy
• Closely monitor hemodynamics and titrate therapies with accurate documentation in Meditech
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Adhere to unit-specific guidelines and contribute to a positive patient experience
• Float to med/surg when required and accept assignments as part of the contract staffing model

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must have)
• Current ACLS certification (required)
• Current BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• Demonstrated competence with ventilator management and critical care equipment
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend coverage requirements
• Comfortable using Meditech or similar electronic health record systems

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and ICU patient assessment
• Ventilator management and weaning strategies
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and SLED operations
• External ventricular drain (EVD) management and monitoring
• Hemodynamic monitoring including arterial lines and central line care
• Chest tube care and post-procedure monitoring
• Lumbar puncture assistance and sterile procedural technique
• Proficient documentation in Meditech and strong clinical communication
