Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, team scheduling. Day shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM; Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Weekend requirement: Days every 3rd weekend, Nights every other weekend. Holidays rotate with permanent staff.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality bedside respiratory care across ages from neonates to geriatrics
- Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment safely and effectively
- Perform and assist with bedside bronchoscopy and spirometry testing
- Interpret EKGs and integrate findings into patient respiratory plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and ancillary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Provide patient assessment, airway management, and timely interventions
- Float confidently across inpatient areas to meet changing patient needs
- Complete accurate documentation in EPIC and support continuity of care
Qualifications
- Required: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC
- Required: BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
- NRP and PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience
- Driver's license required at submittal (used to confirm radius eligibility)
- Comfortable with bedside bronchoscopy, spirometry, ventilator management, and EKG interpretation
- Ability to complete unit-specific orientation (typically 3 x 12-hour shifts) and work within team scheduling
Education
- Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (associate degree or equivalent) and NBRC certification (CRT or RRT)
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on ventilator management (Drager, Servo I, Carefusion) and familiarity with BiPAP units (Vision, V60, V30, Respironics S/T)
- High-flow therapy experience (Airvo2) and Heliox familiarity for NICU use
- Proficient with bedside spirometry and bronchoscopy assistance
- Strong patient assessment, airway management, and critical thinking skills
- Experience charting in EPIC or similar electronic medical records
- Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, flexibility, and adaptability
- Ability to work across the lifespan — neonates to geriatrics
