Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating nights including weekends, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night shift). Note: staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on K9A Oncology/Women’s Surgical unit
- Administer treatments and therapies safely and according to protocol (chemo administration when certified)
- Document care accurately in Cerner and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team
- Perform or assist with unit procedures such as pelvic exams, echoes, and thoracentesis as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
- Educate and support patients and families through treatment, recovery, and discharge planning
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection control practices, and quality/safety standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license (license RN/CNA noted as required on posting) — North Carolina licensure preferred or compact licensure where applicable
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience (posting indicates 2 years experience)
- Experience with oncology and med-surg patient care; Cerner EMR experience strongly preferred
- Chemo certification is a plus and will make your application stand out
- Comfort assisting with or performing pelvic exams, echo support, and thoracentesis
Knowledge & Skills
- Oncology nursing principles and patient-centered oncology care
- Med-surg assessment and interventions
- Cerner electronic medical record documentation and workflows
- Safe medication administration and chemotherapy handling (if chemo-certified)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
- Ability to function effectively on overnight/nighthawk teams and manage changing acuity
