Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for Med-Surg patients with attention to safety and detail
• Assess patient status, monitor vital signs, and rapidly communicate changes to the care team
• Administer medications, treatments, and documentation accurately and timely
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, procedures, and discharge plans to promote positive outcomes
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and contribute to a positive workplace culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee RN or multistate compact where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or PALS desirable based on unit needs
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical judgment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; adaptable to a travel assignment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med-Surg clinical knowledge including assessment, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Patient-centered care and effective time management in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to triage, escalate, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort with IV therapy, Foley care, and common post-op/post-procedure nursing tasks
