Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care and support
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Safely transfer and ambulate residents, using proper body mechanics
- Monitor, document and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear communication
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification in Pennsylvania — required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfort working night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and in a per diem capacity
- Compassionate attitude, strong communication skills, and reliability
- Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience helpful but not mandatory
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an approved CNA training program and active certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic nursing care and ADLs
- Ability to follow care plans and accurately document interventions
- Familiarity with safety, infection control, and resident handling techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work on a collaborative team
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs in a busy setting
