Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality med-surg and rehabilitation nursing care to a 31-bed unit
• Perform wound care and incision dressings with attention to detail and patient comfort
• Place and manage Foley catheters and support urinary care needs safely
• Assist with blood transfusions and closely monitor patient responses
• Deliver respiratory therapy support such as trach suctioning and breathing treatments
• Safely transfer and mobilize patients using proper equipment (Hoyers, wheelchairs, walkers)
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Meditech/CareTools) and communicate changes promptly
• Collaborate with therapy and nursing staff to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Support a positive unit culture by being organized, team-oriented, and professional

Qualifications

• Current LVN/LPN license (eligible to work in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (Med-Surg or rehabilitation preferred)
• Rehabilitation (therapy) experience required; candidates without this skill will not be considered
• Experience with CareTools and Meditech strongly preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Comfortable working night shifts and committing to scheduled weekends
• Strong teamwork, organization, and patient-centered communication skills

Education

• Vocational Nursing diploma (LVN/LPN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Med-Surg and rehabilitation nursing practices
• Wound care and incision dressing techniques
• Foley catheter placement and urinary care
• Blood transfusion monitoring and protocols
• Respiratory therapy support (trach suctioning, breathing treatments)
• Patient transfer and safe use of Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs and walkers
• Electronic Medical Record charting (Meditech, CareTools)
• Ability to manage typical nurse-to-patient ratios and prioritize care
