Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients rapidly and accurately in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Provide expert emergency nursing care across a wide range of presentations at a Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center
- Document patient care thoroughly and efficiently using Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and tech staff to ensure smooth patient flow and monitoring
- Coach and give real-time feedback to colleagues to elevate team performance and patient safety
- Operate and monitor equipment such as Baxter pumps and GE monitors and manage cardiac monitoring
- Maintain patient experience priorities — use AIDET, keep boards updated, and communicate respectfully throughout visits
- Follow unit guidelines and certification requirements to ensure compliance and high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state authorization to practice required)
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting (Level 2 trauma center/high-volume ED experience preferred)
- Current ACLS and BLS prior to start; PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS required before start; ENPC within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated teamwork mentality and ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Comfortable floating to all sections within the Emergency Department
- Familiarity with Cerner documentation and cardiac monitoring
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing, triage, and rapid patient assessment
- Strong documentation skills using Cerner
- Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitoring systems
- Cardiac monitoring and stroke pathway familiarity (NIHSS)
- Patient experience practices including AIDET and respectful communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume ED with typical patient ratios around 4:1 (up to 7:1 for behavioral holds)
- Teamwork, coaching, and real-time feedback skills
