Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), rotating schedule including weekdays and every-other weekend with holiday coverage (36 guaranteed hours per week)

Candidate Pay Rate: $65.43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to patients with CHF, COPD, CVA and other acute diagnoses
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret cardiac strips, escalating changes in condition promptly
- Safely administer medications and manage cardiac drips such as heparin, Cardizem and insulin
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Serve as charge nurse when assigned, coordinating patient flow and staffing needs
- Collaborate closely with RT, pharmacy, physician teams and nurse aides to deliver coordinated care
- Respond to emergencies and participate in unit emergency protocols
- Float between Med Surg/PCU/ED boarding units as needed and complete floor-specific orientation
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Washington or Compact RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Med-Surg/Telemetry experience strongly preferred)
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, reading cardiac strips and IV therapy
- Experience with Epic or willingness to complete Epic training
- Charge nurse experience and the ability to mentor/support nurse aides is a plus
- Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts including every-other weekend and holidays
Education
- Registered Nursing degree (ADN or Nursing Diploma acceptable); BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry nursing and cardiac monitoring expertise
- Proficient in medication administration and drip management
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips quickly and accurately
- Familiarity with tele-monitors and tele-monitor workflows
- Strong clinical judgement and emergency response skills
- Effective interdisciplinary communication with RT, pharmacy, physicians and support staff
- Accurate electronic charting in Epic
