Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during the daytime shift
- Assess patient condition and report significant changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Document care thoroughly and clearly to support continuity and quality
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to optimize outcomes
- Support patient and family education with empathy and clear communication
- Participate in unit-based safety and quality initiatives to improve care
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or compact multistate RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
- Current immunizations per facility policy (facility will confirm specific requirements)
- Previous acute care or relevant clinical experience preferred
- Comfortable with electronic charting systems; adaptability to facility processes
- Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Time management and prioritization across a busy daytime caseload
- Basic familiarity with common hospital equipment and safety protocols
- Ability to learn new charting systems and facility workflows quickly
