Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care on telemetry and med/surg units
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry changes
- Float between units as needed while maintaining continuity and safety of care
- Deliver medications, IV therapy, and treatments accurately and on time
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain compliance with required screenings, immunizations, and documentation
- Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring colleagues and supporting teamwork
Qualifications
- Active nursing license (state verification required)
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP as applicable
- Experience in telemetry and med/surg care, with the ability to float between units
- Comfortable working 12-hour shifts and covering weekends
- Completion of required compliance items prior to start and full compliance within two weeks of start
- Current immunizations and negative/clear TB testing or documented chest x-ray as required
- Successful completion of drug screen, color-blind test, fit test, and other workplace health checks
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Medication administration and IV management
- Familiarity with stroke assessments (NIHSS) and emergency response protocols
- Comfort with unit float responsibilities and rapidly changing assignments
- Clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience with competency exams and skill checklists (Prime platform familiarity is a plus)
