Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 4x10 Day schedule, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM (4 days/week, specific days vary); One weeknight on-call per week, 6:00 PM - 7:30 AM; Approximately every 5th weekend coverage: Friday 6:00 PM - Monday 7:30 AM. Shift type: day with night/on-call and occasional weekend night coverage (rotating/day_night).
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Set up procedural equipment and ensure sterile technique to keep procedures safe and efficient
- Scrub and circulate during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Assist with Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI), IABP and Impella setup/management
- Perform EKG lead placement and continuous hemodynamic monitoring to support timely clinical decisions
- Prep access sites and manage vascular closure systems such as Perclose and StarClose
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and life-threatening arrhythmias during procedures
- Operate fluoroscopy and support imaging modalities (IVUS, OCT) as required for interventions
- Document procedures accurately in Epic and communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams
Qualifications
- Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or equivalent clinical cath lab experience (CVT preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab experience and at least 1 year of prior travel assignment experience (no first-time travelers)
- Required/Preferred certifications: BLS and ACLS (preferred), ARRT(R), CCI or RCIS as applicable
- Proven experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including left/right heart cath, PCI, hemodynamic monitoring, and vascular closure systems
- Comfortable charting in Epic and working in a fast-paced acute care setting
- Ability to work on-call nights and occasional extended weekend coverage
Education
- CVT (Cardiovascular Technologist) certification preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology procedures (PCI, PTCA)
- Left and right heart catheterization, hemodynamic monitoring, and EKG lead placement
- Recognition and management of dysrhythmias and life-threatening arrhythmias
- Experience with IABP, Impella, PA line insertion and vascular closure devices
- Fluoroscopy operation and familiarity with imaging tools (IVUS, OCT, Philips systems)
- Sterile technique, scrub procedures, and room circulator responsibilities
- Epic charting proficiency and strong interdisciplinary communication skills
- Familiarity with EP lab, IR procedures, and special procedures commonly performed in a short-term acute care hospital
