Shift Type: Variable shifts (days and evenings), 8-, 10- or 12-hour options. Primary schedule: Day 3x12-hour, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM. Call required Monday-Friday, 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Weekend coverage includes 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM as scheduled; approximately 3 weekend shifts per 13 weeks as needed. Rotating day/night and weekend coverage.

Hours per Week: 60

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative care during a wide range of surgical procedures
• Circulate for Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spine and General Surgery cases and ensure smooth room flow
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely patient records and documentation in EPIC
• Respond appropriately to Level I trauma and emergent surgical cases in a fast-paced environment
• Float to other units within the OSU organization as needed to support patient care

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
• Experience or comfort working in a Level I trauma center (preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC charting
• Current BCLS/BLS certification (required)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Comfort with a broad surgical case mix including robotics, transplant and trauma procedures
• Willingness to take call and work rotating day/night/weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative and surgical circulating skills
• Experience with EPIC electronic charting and maintaining accurate documentation
• Familiarity with orthopedic, neurosurgery, spine and general surgery workflows
• Ability to manage trauma-driven priorities and emergent cases calmly and efficiently
• Skills in robotic, laparoscopic and open surgical environments
• Adaptability to float between units and support varying patient populations
