Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care, triaging and stabilizing patients in a fast-paced trauma/acute setting
• Manage a patient assignment consistent with local ratios (approximately 1:5-6), prioritizing safety and outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and ancillary staff, to coordinate timely treatment
• Administer medications, fluids and emergency interventions according to policy and scope of practice
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care with compassion and clarity
• Float within scope to like units as needed to support staffing and patient care demands

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
• Comfortable and experienced with Epic electronic health record/charting
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts and commit to every-other-weekend coverage
• Flu vaccine required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• First-time travel nurses are welcome

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Experience managing high-acuity patients and prioritizing care under pressure
• Proficiency with Epic charting and electronic documentation
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
• Adaptability to float between like units and manage changing patient volumes
