Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced respiratory care to critically ill adult and pediatric ICU patients
• Manage ventilators, advanced airway therapies, and respiratory procedures with confidence
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Epic
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between like units to meet facility needs while maintaining high standards of care
• Cover scheduled nights, weekends and holidays as required and participate in departmental call/makeup policies
• Adhere to facility policies including return-to-work, RTO limits and infection control guidelines

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience — ICU experience required
• Comfortable caring for both pediatric and adult ICU patients
• Experience using Epic for charting and documentation
• Willingness to float between like units and work every-other-weekend and holiday shifts
• Active state respiratory therapy license (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Flu vaccination required per facility policy (medical or religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccination not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced ventilator management and weaning strategies
• Airway management and emergency respiratory interventions
• Critical care monitoring and assessment for ICU patients
• Pediatric respiratory care knowledge and pediatric competency
• Proficient Epic charting and electronic documentation skills
• Strong communication, teamwork and adaptability in fast-paced settings
