Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population in a Level III Trauma/teaching hospital
- Rapidly assess, triage, and prioritize patients to ensure timely interventions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic
- Manage a patient assignment consistent with the unit ratio (1:5-6) while maintaining safety and standards
- Adapt to unit needs by floating within scope to like units when requested
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in North Carolina (pending licenses are not accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- Comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced emergency department
- Experience using Epic charting (listed as a core skill for this role)
- First-time travel nurses welcomed; travel experience is not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
- Ability to manage multiple critically ill or injured patients safely
- Proficient with Epic electronic charting
- Ability to work independently on night shift and as part of a team
- Experience managing patient ratios similar to 1:5-6
- Willingness to float within scope to support patient care needs
