Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic mammography and breast tomosynthesis studies with precision and compassion
- Assist the radiologist during stereotactic biopsy procedures to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment and perform routine quality control checks
- Accurately document exams and merge images/reports in PACS and Cerner for seamless charting
- Provide clear patient education and positioning to optimize image quality and patient comfort
- Maintain radiation safety and infection control standards at all times
- Collaborate with the radiology team to prioritize cases and support smooth unit operations
Qualifications
- Certified Mammography Technologist - ARRT (M) (required)
- CRT in Mammography (California) (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Must have performed at least 200 mammograms in the past 2 years
- Experience using Cerner and PACS; able to merge PACS & Cerner records
- Prior travel experience preferred and required for this travel assignment
- Valid licensure as required by state and employer (license to submit required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in mammography imaging and breast tomosynthesis techniques
- Familiarity with stereotactic biopsy assistance and radiology procedural workflow
- Experienced with Cerner EMR and PACS systems and image management
- Strong patient positioning, communication, and patient-centered care skills
- Competence in equipment quality control, troubleshooting, and radiation safety
- Attention to detail for accurate documentation and charting
- Teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced acute care environment
