Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms using 2D and 3D mammography systems
- Operate Hologic 3D and Hologic Affirm BX equipment with precision and safety
- Assist with and perform stereotactic biopsies, fine needle aspirations, and needle localizations under appropriate supervision
- Chart accurately and timely in Epic to ensure clear communication and continuity of care
- Apply isolation precautions and proper PPE to protect patients and staff
- Collaborate with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education and support throughout imaging and procedures
- Maintain equipment and procedural documentation to meet facility and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification (ARRT and ARRT Advanced preferred)
- Valid California radiologic license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of mammography experience (screening and/or diagnostic)
- Comfortable using Epic charting system
- Demonstrated ability to perform stereotactic biopsy procedures and related interventions
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program or equivalent certification pathway
Knowledge & Skills
- 3-D Mammography and Hologic 3D operation
- Hologic Affirm BX experience
- Screening and Diagnostic Mammography techniques
- Stereotactic Biopsy, Fine Needle Aspiration, Needle Localizations
- Charting in Epic
- Isolation Precautions and PPE best practices
- Ability to work within an acute care hospital environment and collaborate with radiology teams
- Familiarity with interpretation services and interdisciplinary support
