Shift Type: 3x12-hour nights, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, typically 3 nights per week; includes every other weekend and required holiday coverage; night shift (NOC)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality med/surg nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
- Serve in the night charge role when scheduled, coordinating unit workflow and staffing
- Safely initiate and manage insulin and heparin drips following unit protocols
- Perform wound care and Wound Vac dressing changes to promote healing
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond to emergency events
- Utilize EPIC and PYXIS for accurate medication administration and documentation
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, pharmacy and PT to optimize patient outcomes
- Participate in inclement weather, storm and hurricane teams and respond as required
Qualifications
- Active RN license in good standing (able to work in NC)
- Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg nursing experience; first-time travelers are accepted
- EPIC experience required for documentation and charting
- BLS (BCLS) certification required prior to start
- Charge nurse experience required for night travelers; unit accepts charge experience in any capacity
- Ability to initiate and manage insulin and heparin drips
- Wound Vac experience, HFNC and short-term BiPAP familiarity preferred
- Must be able to work holidays, float to similar units, and join inclement weather teams when assigned
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Flu vaccine required unless a medical or religious exemption applies
Education
- Active RN license required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
- Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response
- IV therapy, peripheral line care and phlebotomy skills
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and short-term BiPAP support
- Wound care and Wound Vac dressing changes
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting and PYXIS medication system
- Isolation precautions and appropriate use of PPE
- Clear SBAR communication and teamwork across disciplines
