Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (night rotation). Guaranteed 36 hours/week. Every other weekend (or 1 weekend based on seniority). Includes 2 - 12 hour call shifts every 4 weeks. Exact shift start/end times set by facility and communicated during scheduling.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality labor, delivery, postpartum, and maternal-newborn care for a busy L&D unit
- Assist as circulating RN or scrub for cesarean sections and support the OR team when needed
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using EFM (GE Centricity) and telemetry; interpret strips and act promptly
- Titrate IV drips safely and accurately (Pitocin, LR, fentanyl, labetalol) according to orders and protocols
- Respond quickly and effectively to obstetrical emergencies such as hemorrhage and hypertensive crises
- Collaborate with OB techs, charge nurse, neonatology, respiratory therapy and multidisciplinary staff
- Document care in MEDITECH and participate in unit-specific orientation and yearly core scheduling
Qualifications
- Active RN license (able to submit with license pending; OR 90-day emergency license can be requested upon offer)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in Labor & Delivery
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications and STABLE certification required
- Experience circulating and/or scrubbing in the OR for cesarean sections
- Competence in fetal monitoring/EFM (GE Centricity) and telemetry interpretation
- Proven ability to titrate drips and manage common OB medications
- Comfort with night shifts, rotating schedules, and periodic call responsibilities
- Charge nurse or house supervisor experience is a plus
Education
- Active RN licensure required (BSN not required)
- Associate degree, diploma, or BSN acceptable per facility policies
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in Labor & Delivery and obstetrical care (LDRP, postpartum, obstetrical emergencies)
- Fetal monitoring and electronic fetal monitoring systems (EFM — GE Centricity)
- Telemetry interpretation and maternal strip reading
- OR assistance for cesarean sections (scrub and circulate skills)
- Medication titration and infusion management (Pitocin, LR, fentanyl, labetalol)
- Charting and documentation in MEDITECH
- Familiarity with neonatal support equipment (vent, bubble CPAP) and collaboration with neonatal/RT teams
- Ability to follow AWHONN staffing ratios and unit protocols
