Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients
- Float between units as needed while maintaining continuity and safety of care
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to telemetry alarms and patient changes
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute patient care plans
- Support unit staffing needs by reliably covering weekend and per diem shifts
- Maintain required compliance items and complete competency exams within the stated timelines
Qualifications
- Active RN license (California) required and verifiable via Nursys
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications as applicable
- Experience working on Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units and comfortable floating between units
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and provide weekend coverage
- Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies, Prime Specialty and Prime Pharmacology exams and required skills checklist
- Meet health and screening requirements (drug screen, TB testing, immunizations/vaccination attestation)
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Medical-surgical nursing assessment and interventions
- Cardiac life support and emergency response (ACLS/BLS/PALS/NRP)
- Strong clinical documentation and time management for 12-hour shifts
- Ability to adapt when floating between different unit workflows
- Compliance with hospital credentialing and competency processes
