Shift Type: Night, 3x12-hour shifts per week, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night). Schedule varies (manager-scheduled blocks); every other weekend required.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality MS/Tele and PCU-level nursing care for adult medical/surgical patients in an ED holding environment
- Monitor cardiac telemetry closely and interpret dysrhythmias, initiating appropriate interventions
- Respond quickly as a member of Rapid Response/Code teams to stabilize patients in crisis
- Manage complex IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line care and peripheral line maintenance
- Support respiratory needs including HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management
- Perform feeding tube care, tracheostomy management and oral suctioning with attention to patient comfort
- Float flexibly between ED holding, ED and MedSurg areas as patient needs require
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (Respiratory, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services) to coordinate timely, patient-centered care
- Document care accurately using Epic and manage medication distribution with Pyxis
Qualifications
- Active RN license (California preferred) in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (MS/Tele, PCU/Stepdown experience strongly preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring (unit and remote) and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Epic electronic charting and Pyxis medication systems preferred
- Ability to float to ED and MedSurg areas and work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; ADN or BSN acceptable (BSN preferred where available)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Telemetry monitoring (on-unit and remote)
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management and blood product administration
- Respiratory support: HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen delivery, non-invasive airway management
- Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac) and tracheostomy care
- Feeding tube care and gastrointestinal support
- Wound care/Wound Vac, colostomy care and post-op ortho trauma care
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams and SBAR communication
- Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis and standard hospital monitoring equipment
