Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT imaging on a high-volume, multidisciplinary patient population
- Execute stroke protocols efficiently and accurately to support time-sensitive care
- Operate GE CT scanners (VCT 64-slice, HD750, Frontier 64) and utilize Philips PACS when required
- Administer and prepare contrast media safely, following radiation safety and isolation precautions
- Insert peripheral IVs and perform venipuncture as needed for contrast studies
- Float between Emergency Department and Main CT to meet patient care demands
- Chart thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in call rotation and respond to urgent imaging needs with professionalism
- Support trauma workflow in a Level II trauma center and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Apply critical thinking to protocol selection, troubleshooting, and quality assurance
Qualifications
- ARRT-CT certification required; ARRT(R) (registered radiographer) required
- BLS certification required
- Current Washington state radiologic technologist license (must be current at start)
- Minimum 1 year CT experience required (note: first-time travelers accepted only with at least 2 years of CT experience)
- GE scanner experience within the last year (experience on GE VCT 64, HD750 or Frontier 64 preferred)
- Stroke protocol efficiency required
- Experience in Level II trauma environments required; Level I trauma experience preferred
- Comfortable taking call and floating between ER and main CT
- Epic charting experience required; Philips PACS preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
- ARRT certification in CT required
- Current Washington state license to practice as a CT technologist
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with CT imaging workflows and GE CT platforms
- Experience with PACS (Philips preferred) and 3D rendering / MPR / ROI post-processing
- Skilled in vascular CTA, coronary CTA, brain perfusion, PET/CT and other advanced CT procedures
- Solid radiation safety practices and contrast media preparation/administration
- Strong clinical decision-making and ability to prioritize in a busy ED/trauma setting
- Excellent communication and teamwork for interdisciplinary care
- Familiarity with KRONOS and hospital timecard/break policies
