Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12): Day shifts 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (3x12) and Night shifts 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12). Schedule rotates and is reviewed every 4 weeks; you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination and may include weekends based on unit needs.
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based oncology and med-surg telemetry care to adults and geriatrics
- Monitor telemetry continuously and interpret dysrhythmias to keep patients safe
- Administer IV therapies, infusions, and blood/blood products with precision and attention to safety
- Manage central lines, ports, and PICC lines including blood draws and access/maintenance
- Perform feeding tube care and respiratory support as needed
- Activate and collaborate with Rapid Response Teams when acute changes occur
- Document thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social work, radiology) to coordinate patient-centered care
- Follow strict infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions to protect immunocompromised patients
- Support unit flow by floating to other MedSurg Oncology units when required
Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) — required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — preferred
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification — preferred but not required
- Oncology certification preferred (ONS or other recognized oncology credential)
- Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience with at least 1 year of oncology (MS/Tele/Oncology) within the last 3 years
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers will be screened
- Comfort with telemetry, infusion therapies, blood product administration, and central line/port care
- Willingness to complete a 72-hour orientation and adapt to rotating schedules
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- IV therapy and infusion pump management (Alaris pumps familiarity helpful)
- Administration and monitoring of blood and blood products
- Central line and port care, PICC management, and central line blood draws
- Feeding tube care and basic respiratory/nasal cannula support
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE best practices for immunocompromised patients
- Experience with Epic charting and clear clinical documentation
- Familiarity with GE B450 telemetry monitors and common inpatient oncology equipment
- Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and clinical changes
