Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT exams across a broad case mix, including trauma, vascular CTA, and brain perfusion
- Operate GE CT scanners (VCT 64, HD750, Frontier 64) safely and efficiently
- Prepare and administer IV contrast media and start peripheral IVs when required
- Follow and optimize stroke protocols to support rapid, lifesaving care
- Chart accurately in Epic and ensure images are properly stored in PACS
- Float between the Emergency Department and Main CT to meet clinical demand
- Participate on-call rotations and respond promptly when needed
- Support special procedures such as biopsies, CT arthrography, and drainage with attention to patient safety and radiation protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and escalate concerns with clear critical thinking
Qualifications
- ARRT-CT required; ARRT (R) and BLS required
- Current Washington state license required
- Minimum 1 year CT experience required (note: first-time travel candidates should have at least 2 years)
- GE scanner experience within the last year required (experience with GE VCT 64, HD750 or Frontier 64 preferred)
- Stroke protocol efficiency required
- Epic charting experience required; Philips PACS preferred
- Comfortable working in Level II/Level I trauma settings and high-volume environments
- Willingness to float between ER and Main CT and participate in call rotation
Knowledge & Skills
- CT imaging principles and radiation safety best practices
- Contrast media preparation and administration
- Peripheral IV insertion and venipuncture
- GE CT system operation and troubleshooting
- Philips PACS and image post-processing (3D rendering, MPR, ROI)
- Vascular CTA and neuro perfusion imaging workflows
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and apply critical thinking to protocols
- Strong communication skills for patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration
