Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative and surgical nursing care for patients across the surgical continuum
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Perform thorough pre-op and post-op assessments, monitoring patient status and communicating changes promptly
• Maintain sterile technique and OR safety standards to protect patients and staff
• Administer medications and assist with intraoperative care according to facility policies and Prime competency requirements
• Complete required Prime assessments and skills checklists to demonstrate competency and maintain compliance
• Document patient care clearly and accurately in the medical record

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys) required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Must complete Prime Basic Pharmacology, Rhythm Interpretation, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam
• Current immunizations and health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, annual influenza, TB testing/PPD/chest X-ray as required
• Successful drug screen (minimum 10-panel) and fit test as part of onboarding
• Experience in surgical nursing and perioperative care preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Surgical Nursing and Perioperative Care expertise
• Comfort with perioperative assessments, intraoperative support, and post-anesthesia care
• Familiarity with Prime testing and competency verification processes
• Strong clinical judgment, patient safety focus, and teamwork in fast-paced OR settings
• Clear documentation and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams
