Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, typically 3x/week, 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM (Day); rotating schedule includes weekends. On-call rotation: typically 6 evenings and one standby weekend per 6 weeks with a 30-minute response requirement.

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, ensuring patient safety and procedure readiness
- Set up and verify specialized equipment including fluoroscopy systems and vascular closure devices
- Monitor patients accurately throughout procedures and recognize life‑threatening arrhythmias promptly
- Place EKG leads, prepare vascular access sites, and assist with device insertions (IABP, Impella, temporary pacemakers, VADs)
- Maintain sterile technique as scrub or room circulator and ensure proper instrument/equipment setup
- Communicate clearly using SBAR and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy and rapid response
- Respond to on-call activations in a timely manner and provide competent emergent support when needed
- Document care in EPIC/McKesson and manage medication dispensing through Pyxis
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact license honored at Swedish facilities) — current and in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Cath Lab or Interventional Cardiology experience — travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Cath lab credentials such as CCI or RCIS preferred
- Demonstrated competence with EPIC (documentation), Pyxis (medication system) and familiarity with McKesson
- Strong patient monitoring skills and experience recognizing arrhythmias and responding appropriately
- Able to meet a 30-minute call-back response time when on call
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures including PCI, PTCA, left/right heart catheterizations, stent placement and rotablator procedures
- Experienced with fluoroscopy, Siemens imaging systems and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Proficient in sterile technique, room circulation and scrub responsibilities
- Comfortable with EKG lead placement, vascular access prep and closure, and accurate intra-procedural monitoring
- Familiar with use of rapid response/code teams and isolation precautions/PPE
- Effective communicator using SBAR and able to collaborate in high-acuity cardiology settings
