Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule options, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Night). Schedule per unit needs; every third weekend required; call and float across pediatric units may be required.

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in NICU and PICU settings
- Manage mechanical ventilation modes including HFOV, IMV, SIMV and troubleshoot high pressure alarms
- Perform advanced airway management and assist with intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Deliver and titrate respiratory medications and inhaled therapies safely and effectively
- Interpret arterial and capillary blood gases and use findings to guide treatment plans
- Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as Servo-I, Servo-N, HOFV-3100, Hamilton T1 and Airvo HFNC
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC and manage medication dispensing with Pyxis
- Float across pediatric units as needed and respond to bedside emergencies and transports
Qualifications
- RRT credential required
- Minimum 5 years of respiratory therapy experience; NICU and PICU experience required
- Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications (listed as required/certified)
- Travel experience required; experienced travelers preferred, first-time travelers considered with high level skillset
- Competent in EPIC charting and Pyxis medication systems
- Able to work night shifts, every third weekend, float across pediatric units, and take call as needed
- NC state license listed in job details; hold appropriate state respiratory licensure as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced ventilator management and weaning strategies
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Bubble CPAP, BiPAP and CPAP expertise
- High frequency oscillator and pressure/volume ventilator familiarity
- Airway suctioning techniques, pulmonary hygiene and suctioning for ETT and trach
- ABG interpretation and capillary/umbilical blood gas sampling
- Medication administration and aerosol delivery systems including nebulizers, MDI, Medihaler and trach setups
- Proficiency with specialized devices: Alaris IV pumps, Aerogen, EZflow Max, Synclara, Volera, Beyond Air nitric system, Metaneb, Smart Vest and Heliox
- Ability to assist in neonatal/pediatric transports and high risk deliveries
