Candidate Pay Rate: $78 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based labor and delivery care including 1:1 support during active labor
- Perform and interpret fetal monitoring using EFM and manage abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Conduct NSTs and perform sterile vaginal exams as clinically indicated
- Administer medications safely, including magnesium sulfate and oxytocin (Pitocin), following protocols
- Triage obstetrical patients and prioritize care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Manage postpartum patients with a 1:3 ratio, ensuring safe transitions and thorough education
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic to support continuity and quality
- Float between units as needed, providing skilled support across maternal-child and acute care settings
- Assist perioperative teams for obstetric OR needs and collaborate with ancillary services (Pharmacy, Respiratory, Radiology)
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Oregon or compact) — ready to practice on assignment
- Minimum 2 years LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) experience preferred
- BLS and NRP required; FHM and other maternal-child certifications preferred
- Comfortable and experienced with External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and NST
- Experience with medication administration in obstetrics, including magnesium sulfate and Pitocin
- Ability to float to nearby facilities and reliable transportation (must have a vehicle for this assignment)
- Willingness to work every-other-weekend coverage and participate in a 36-hour orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong fetal monitoring and interpretation skills (EFM/FHM/NST)
- Labor and delivery management, including active 1:1 labor support
- Postpartum care and patient education for new parents
- Proficiency with Epic charting and electronic medical records
- Medication safety in obstetrics (magnesium sulfate, oxytocin) and familiarity with epidural care
- Triage and prioritization skills for obstetrical presentations
- Comfort working in a teaching hospital and critical-access settings
