Shift Type: Variable days, Day shifts (3x12-hour blocks per week), 7:00 AM - 6:30 PM, block schedule, generally every other weekend required (Day)

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care for neonatal and pediatric patients in PICU/NICU settings, including ventilator management and weaning
- Perform airway interventions such as intubation assist, extubation support, tracheostomy care and suctioning with precision and compassion
- Manage and troubleshoot noninvasive and invasive respiratory support (HFNC, CPAP, BiPAP, Bubble CPAP) and respond to high pressure alarms
- Operate and maintain ventilators and related equipment (Draeger V800, VN800, LTV 1200; Optiflow Jr; Airvo 2) safely and effectively
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered respiratory plans
- Educate and support families about respiratory therapies and care plans in a clear, empathetic manner
- Document care thoroughly and timely in the patient record and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Current RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Active or eligible Texas respiratory therapist license
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory experience; PICU/NICU experience required (1YR/1ST TIMERS OK)
- PALS and NRP required/preferred per site guidelines; BLS required
- Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I preferred
- Comfort with pediatric/neonatal equipment and rapid-response scenarios
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
Education
- Associate degree or completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Successful completion of RRT credentialing (CRT to RRT pathway as applicable)
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Airway management: intubation assist, extubation, nasal/oral airway placement
- Tracheostomy care and ETT/NT suctioning
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP, BiPAP, Bubble CPAP operation
- Oxygen therapy, nebulizer therapies, bag-and-mask ventilation
- Troubleshooting high pressure alarms and other ventilator alarms
- Familiarity with pediatric/neonatal respiratory devices and circuits
- Ability to provide pediatric critical care support and family education
