Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating shifts including days and evenings, variable 8-, 10- and 12-hour shifts. Day example: Monday-Friday (4x10), 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Call required Monday-Friday nights, 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Weekend coverage: Saturday and Sunday split coverage 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM. Holiday and additional weekend coverage as needed.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $105 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care during a wide range of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Circulate effectively in Orthopedic, Neurosurgery, Spine and General Surgery cases to support optimal surgical flow
- Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC and ensure seamless handoffs with the surgical team
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiology and perioperative staff to anticipate needs and improve outcomes
- Respond to trauma activations and high-acuity surgical situations in a Level 1 Trauma 18-bed OR
- Float to other units within the organization as needed to support staffing and patient care demands
- Participate in on-call coverage and holiday/weekend staffing to ensure continuous patient support
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (or compact state eligibility where applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
- Experience working in or preferred experience with Level 1 trauma centers
- Proficiency with EPIC charting and perioperative documentation
- Current BCLS/BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
- Comfortable circulating and scrub roles across multiple specialties including trauma, ortho and neuro
- Willingness to float to other units and participate in required call and weekend coverage
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of sterile technique, perioperative patient assessment and anesthesia processes
- Skills in circulating for Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Spine and General Surgery
- Familiarity with robotic and laparoscopic assisted procedures and specialty case workflows
- Ability to manage high-volume surgical days (45-50 procedures per day) with calm efficiency
- Strong teamwork, communication and documentation skills in EPIC
- Trauma triage and acute surgical care experience for high-acuity patients
