Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Day); Block schedules required. Rotating on-call coverage: on-call shift runs 4:00 PM - 7:00 AM (approx. 3-4 call shifts/month including weekdays and about 1 weekend every 6 weeks). Floating between units as assigned; occasional weekend day shift coverage when staff are on PTO.
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality EEG testing across age groups including routine, sleep deprived, ambulatory, and long-term monitoring
- Place electrodes accurately and safely for routine, pediatric, NICU, PICU, and ICU recordings
- Provide portable EEG recordings in ICU, NICU, and PICU settings and respond to on-call requests promptly
- Conduct ECI (brain death) testing per protocol when required
- Document findings and patient interactions clearly in Epic charting system
- Collaborate with neurologists, nursing, and multidisciplinary teams to support patient care and timely diagnosis
- Educate patients and families about procedures, expectations, and aftercare
- Maintain and troubleshoot EEG equipment, ensuring cleanliness and calibration for reliable recordings
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years EEG technologist experience
- Required experience with ECI brain death testing, electrode placement, sleep EEG, sleep-deprived EEG, and portable recording in ICU/NICU/PICU
- Experience with ambulatory EEG and long-term/video monitoring preferred
- Proficiency or comfort with Epic charting preferred
- BLS certification preferred
- Comfort floating between units and participating in a rotating on-call schedule
- Teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience are a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of EEG procedures and neurodiagnostic testing across the lifespan
- Skilled in electrode placement and montage selection for accurate recordings
- Experience with ambulatory and long-term monitoring workflows
- Ability to perform portable recordings in critical care environments
- Familiarity with ECI brain death protocols and documentation
- Competence using Epic or similar electronic medical record systems
- Good communication skills for patient education and multidisciplinary collaboration
- Basic equipment troubleshooting and infection control practices
