Shift Type: Nights, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend (minimum 2 holidays during contract); may float to MedSurg or ICU

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide excellent nursing care for PCU/stepdown patients with cardiac, dialysis, stroke, respiratory and complex med/surg needs
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on cardiac changes
- Manage and troubleshoot arterial lines and titratable drips (heparin, nitro, dopamine, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin)
- Use EPIC for charting and clear communication about medications and patient status
- Collaborate with charge nurses and supervise patient care techs to maintain safe staffing and high-quality care
- Perform safe patient handling using overhead and portable lifts and ensure equipment is used correctly
- Deliver culturally sensitive care to diverse populations and contribute to strong patient experience scores
- Be flexible, accept feedback, and engage in continuous learning to improve unit performance
Qualifications
- Active RN license (eligible to work in Nebraska)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical RN experience (PCU, telemetry, or stepdown preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NIHSS certification required
- Competency with arterial lines and titration of IV drips
- Proven ability to read and interpret telemetry
- Driver's license required at submittal and must meet a 50-mile radius rule from the facility
- Willingness to take and pass an open-book orientation exam (90% required)
- Flexible team player who can float to MedSurg or ICU when needed
Education
- Active RN license (required)
- BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Arterial line management and invasive monitoring basics
- Titration and management of critical IV drips
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- High-flow oxygen support and basic RT troubleshooting
- Familiarity with dialysis patient needs and post-procedural care
- Use of assistive devices: bladder scanner, vein finder, overhead/portable lifts
- Strong communication, cultural competence (including Hispanic and Somalian populations), and teamwork
