Shift Type: 3x12-hour day shifts per week, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM; day shift. Call/standby rotation applies: typically 6 evenings and one weekend per 6 weeks (must respond within 30 minutes).
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including PCI, PTCA, left and right heart caths
- Set up, operate and monitor fluoroscopy and Siemens imaging equipment during procedures
- Maintain a sterile field as scrub and serve as room circulator when needed
- Prepare access sites, place EKG leads, and perform accurate physiologic monitoring
- Assist with specialized devices and interventions such as IABP, Impella, temporary pacemakers and VAD insertion
- Apply vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) following best practices
- Recognize and respond immediately to life-threatening arrhythmias and participate in Rapid Response/Code teams
- Document thoroughly in EPIC/McKesson and manage medication workflows with Pyxis
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services) to deliver coordinated care
- Participate in call coverage and standby duties as required by unit staffing
Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact license honored at applicable facilities) required
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience required; travel experience required — first-time travelers not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS preferred; CCI RCIS preferred
- Proven experience with diagnostic and interventional cath lab procedures (PCI, PTCA, IABP, Impella, rotablator, TAVR familiar is a plus)
- Comfortable with EPIC/McKesson documentation systems and Pyxis medication systems
- Ability to respond to on-call summons within 30 minutes and work the scheduled call rotation
- Strong critical thinking, sterile technique, and ability to function as scrub and room circulator
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Additional specialty training or certifications in cardiovascular/cath lab nursing a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Fluoroscopy and cath lab imaging workflows (Siemens experience helpful)
- EKG lead placement and cardiac monitoring/arrhythmia recognition
- Cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, and percutaneous coronary interventions
- Use of vascular closure devices (Perclose, StarClose) and access site prep
- Hands-on experience with mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, VADs)
- Familiarity with OCT, PA line insertion, TAVR/TAVI and Watchman procedures (preferred)
- Medication system: Pyxis; Documentation: EPIC and McKesson
- SBAR communication and working within Rapid Response/Code teams
- Sterile technique, room setup, equipment troubleshooting and accurate monitoring
