Shift Type: Variable days (4x10-hour schedule), 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Day shift (typically four 10-hour day shifts per week)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $72 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the visit
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation, including pre-procedure assessment, continuous observation, and post-procedure recovery
- Initiate and maintain IV therapy, manage lines, and ensure appropriate medication administration
- Perform patient monitoring and recovery duties, recognizing and responding to changes in clinical status
- Collaborate with radiology and interventional teams to support imaging services (CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine)
- Educate patients and families on procedure expectations, recovery instructions, and discharge planning
- Float to other UCSF facilities as needed to support patient care across locations
- Adhere to infection prevention practices and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of Interventional Radiology (IR) RN experience
- Moderate sedation competency in IR and Neuro IR required
- Ability to float to other UCSF facilities and be flexible with assignments
- Comfort with wearing lead apron and entering MRI environments as needed
- Preferred: experience in ICU, ED, or PACU or other procedural areas
- Preferred: Radiology Imaging Nursing Certification and PALS
- Must follow facility vaccine guidelines (COVID-19 vaccine and booster required per facility with medical/religious exemptions considered)
Knowledge & Skills
- Interventional Radiology procedures and peri-procedural nursing
- Moderate sedation administration and monitoring
- IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs
- Patient monitoring, recovery and post-procedure assessment
- Experience with radiology imaging modalities: CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine
- Recognition and management/interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Use of reversal agents and procedural medications
- Infection prevention best practices and sterile technique
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
