Shift Type: Typically Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift); weekend coverage approximately one weekend every 6 weeks
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat adults across the rehab continuum with evidence-based speech-language interventions
- Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and lead modified barium swallow studies when indicated
- Manage trach/vent patients and implement Passy Muir valve protocols to support weaning and communication
- Develop and implement augmentative and alternative communication plans and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Provide patient and family education to improve carryover and functional outcomes
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in Epic to support continuity of care and billing/documentation needs
- Collaborate with PT/OT, nursing, social services and interdisciplinary teams on individualized care plans
- Perform standardized and functional assessments (ALPS, WAB, BIMS, etc.) and use results to guide treatment and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) — required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical SLP experience
- Experience with acute care and rehabilitation populations preferred
- Comfortable charting in Epic (charting system required)
- BLS certification preferred
- Skills in dysphagia management, bedside swallow evaluation, and conducting MBSS
- Experience with trach/vent care and Passy Muir valves
- Flexible team player willing to float between units and cover one weekend every 6 weeks
Knowledge & Skills
- Dysphagia evaluation and management (bedside and instrumental)
- Modified barium swallow study experience
- Augmentative and alternative communication strategies and devices
- Voice and resonance assessment, acoustic analysis, nasoendoscopy and videostroboscopy familiarity
- Use of standardized tools: ALPS, WAB, BIMS, BAE, CADL, CELF, CPS, NOMS, PICA, Rossetti
- Skilled patient/family education and discharge planning
- Strong documentation skills in Epic and clinical billing/documentation awareness
- Interdisciplinary collaboration in a rehabilitation hospital setting
