Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care across both the Emergency Department and Med/Surg areas
• Triage and prioritize patients on arrival to ensure timely, appropriate care
• Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor patient status, and intervene as needed
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments safely and accurately
• Respond quickly to emergencies and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team during codes and critical events
• Document patient care thoroughly and complete required Trinity specialty competency testing
• Support continuity of care during weekend and holiday rotations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required)
• ER and Med/Surg nursing experience required — able to work competently in both areas
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist as required
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Varicella), COVID-19 vaccine, influenza vaccine, and TB screening (2-step PPD or IGRA)
• Willingness to participate in holiday and weekend rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency triage and acute care skills
• Solid medical-surgical patient management and post-acute care knowledge
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring
• Comfort using electronic medical records and completing accurate documentation
• NIHSS stroke assessment competency
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
