Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate CT scanner safely and efficiently to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging steps, and ensure patient comfort
- Perform contrast administration and monitor patients per facility protocols
- Adhere to radiation safety and infection control procedures at all times
- Collaborate with radiologists and care teams to prioritize studies and expedite critical results
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation including image archiving (PACS)
- Participate in competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Current CT Technologist credentials (ARRT-CT or state equivalent) preferred
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP certification listed as required
- License/Certificate Verification completed and valid for Illinois practice
- Previous CT experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred
- Ability to pass required health screening and drug testing
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred
- ARRT registration in Radiography or CT preferred; state licensure as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging protocols and cross-sectional anatomy
- Patient positioning and atraumatic patient handling skills
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record systems
- Competence in contrast administration and screening for contraindications
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, especially during night operations
- Attention to detail with strong documentation and safety mindset
