Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the registered Physical Therapist in delivering therapeutic interventions and treatment programs
• Perform routine treatment procedures in line with the patient’s plan of care
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to your supervising PT
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with Medicare and private insurance requirements
• Direct and guide Physical Therapy Aides during treatments as appropriate and under PT supervision
• Keep treatment areas clean, organized, and ready for safe patient care
• Communicate with physicians and care team members about patient progress in consultation with the supervising PT
• Participate in facility educational activities to grow your skills and support team excellence

Qualifications

• Current Arizona licensure required for submission, or evidence of application with an ETA for approval
• Graduation from an approved and accredited therapist program
• Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
• Licensed by the State in the designated geographic area in your therapy profession
• Demonstrated ability to safely lift, turn, and transfer patients (minimal assist transfers defined as the ability to lift and control 50 pounds)
• Able to work safely and professionally in a busy rehab environment

Education

• Graduation from an approved and accredited therapist program

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with therapeutic intervention and treatment procedures
• Proficient in patient transfers and safe mobility techniques
• Strong patient documentation skills and attention to regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with Medicare and private insurance documentation requirements
• Clear communication skills for coordinating with PTs, physicians, patients, and families
• Ability to supervise and instruct therapy aides when appropriate
