Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care for vascular and endovascular procedures from pre-op through PACU
- Deliver trauma-informed care in a busy Level I trauma operating room environment
- Support surgical teams by anticipating needs, preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
- Respond promptly to on-call activations and emergent cases with calm, skilled clinical action
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in unit-level quality improvement and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
- Share knowledge and mentor less-experienced staff to promote a culture of continuous learning
Qualifications
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact) required
- Proven Operating Room nursing experience with strong vascular and endovascular case exposure
- Experience in a Level I trauma setting or equivalent high-acuity OR experience
- Availability for nights, weekends, holidays and on-call coverage
- Prior travel RN experience is a plus
- Current BLS required; CNOR or advanced perioperative certifications preferred
Education
- Active RN license; ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of perioperative care and sterile technique
- Skilled in vascular and endovascular instrumentation and workflow
- Trauma assessment and rapid decision-making in emergent operative settings
- Strong communication and teamwork with surgeons, anesthesia and support staff
- High attention to detail with surgical counts, documentation and patient safety
- Adaptability to high-volume, fast-paced OR environments
