Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and continuously monitor adult and older adult patients on a 32-bed med/tele surgical unit
• Safely administer acute medications including heparin drips as ordered and follow all IV therapy protocols
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms to anticipate changes in patient condition
• Provide trauma-informed care and prioritize patient safety in fast-paced situations
• Document care thoroughly in EPIC EMR and ensure all demographic and badge photo requirements are loaded
• Collaborate with physicians, PT/rehab teams, and skilled nursing staff to support patient recovery
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge expectations, and rehabilitation needs
• Maintain ratio-based care (1:5) while triaging priorities, delegating appropriately, and escalating concerns

Qualifications

• Active RN license for the state of Georgia or compact license as applicable
• Documented medical-surgical and telemetry experience required, please have checklist ready
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfort and experience with heparin drips and administration of acute medications
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR for documentation and medication administration
• Experience working with adult and older adult populations and trauma patients
• Prior NICHE training, skilled nursing or rehab experience is a plus
• Ability to provide care using specialty equipment such as gait belts, geriatric chairs and PT equipment
