Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative and postoperative nursing care for orthopedic and trauma surgical patients
- Assist the surgical team during orthopedic and trauma procedures with precision and calm
- Perform thorough assessments and continuous post-op monitoring to keep patients safe
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation including required skills checklists and certification records
- Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesiologists, therapists, and patient families
- Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and hospital policy standards at all times
- Support onboarding requirements by providing required credentials, references, and demographic information
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys license verification required
- Minimum 2 years experience in ortho/trauma or surgical med-surg specialty in a similar size setting
- Proven ortho/trauma surgical skills and experience in surgical nursing or med-surg RN roles
- Complete work history/resume with no gaps greater than 60 days
- Submission of skills checklist, references, and certification card as part of application
- Willingness to upload badge-appropriate photo and required demographic information to profile
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong ortho and trauma surgical skills and familiarity with surgical workflows
- Solid med-surg nursing foundation and post-op patient management
- Competence with surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and perioperative procedures
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring abilities
- Clear communication and teamwork skills for fast-paced surgical environments
- Accurate documentation habits and attention to compliance and credentialing details
