Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to high-acuity trauma and surgical patients
- Perform focused neuro/spinal assessments and manage complex surgical/post-op needs
- Respond quickly and confidently to trauma activations and gunshot wound presentations
- Deliver skilled care for quadriplegic and paraplegic patients, supporting mobility and prevention of complications
- Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC — charting matters for patient safety
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
- Maintain certifications and competency checks to ensure best-practice clinical care
- Mentor and support peers on the floor, contributing to a positive, safety-focused environment
Qualifications
- Active RN license with Nursys verification (must be uploaded to profile)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in trauma/surgical or high-acuity specialty
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- EPIC experience required — please note on your profile
- Complete candidate profile with resume/work history (no gaps greater than 60 days), skills checklist, references, and certification card
- Badge-appropriate picture and full demographic info loaded into profile
Knowledge & Skills
- Trauma nursing and surgical nursing expertise
- Neuro/spinal care and high-acuity assessment skills
- Experience managing gunshot wounds and critical trauma presentations
- Care for quadriplegic and paraplegic patients, including pressure injury prevention and mobility care
- Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic charting workflow
- Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and rapid decision-making
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
- Adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
