Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
- Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies while maintaining strict sterile technique
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth cases
- Perform continuous patient assessment and monitoring throughout the intraoperative period
- Respond quickly and confidently to trauma situations and Level I activations
- Document thoroughly and accurately in the patient record to support continuity of care
- Contribute to a positive, safety-focused culture by following protocols and mentoring colleagues
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (GA license or Nurse Licensure Compact preferred)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Level I trauma experience required; comfortable in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
- Current BLS required; ACLS and TNCC or CNOR preferred
- Up-to-date immunizations, ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Perioperative nursing principles and strict sterile technique
- Experience with trauma protocols and rapid assessment in the OR
- Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and case setup
- Ability to monitor and interpret intraoperative patient data
- Strong situational awareness, adaptability, and teamwork under pressure
