Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies while maintaining strict sterile technique
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and the perioperative team to ensure smooth cases
• Perform continuous patient assessment and monitoring throughout the intraoperative period
• Respond quickly and confidently to trauma situations and Level I activations
• Document thoroughly and accurately in the patient record to support continuity of care
• Contribute to a positive, safety-focused culture by following protocols and mentoring colleagues

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (GA license or Nurse Licensure Compact preferred)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required; comfortable in high-acuity, fast-paced settings
• Current BLS required; ACLS and TNCC or CNOR preferred
• Up-to-date immunizations, ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles and strict sterile technique
• Experience with trauma protocols and rapid assessment in the OR
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and case setup
• Ability to monitor and interpret intraoperative patient data
• Strong situational awareness, adaptability, and teamwork under pressure
