Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the registered Physical Therapist in delivering therapeutic interventions and treatment programs
- Perform routine treatment procedures in alignment with individualized care plans
- Observe, document, and report patient responses and progress to the supervising PT
- Maintain and organize the treatment area to ensure a safe, professional environment
- Direct and guide Physical Therapy Aides during treatments as appropriate under PT supervision
- Communicate patient progress and pertinent findings to physicians in consultation with the supervising PT
- Participate in facility educational activities to continue growing professionally
- Help maintain accurate rehab documentation and records to support quality care
Qualifications
- Active Florida license in the designated therapy profession (required for submission)
- Current certification with the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Graduation from an approved and accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Demonstrated ability to perform a minimum of minimal assist transfers (able to lift/control 50 lbs)
- Ability to follow facility policies, Medicare and private insurance requirements, and Quality Care Rehab procedures
Education
- Graduation from an approved and accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Therapeutic intervention techniques and routine treatment procedures
- Patient observation, reporting, and progress documentation
- Safe patient lifting, transfer and positioning skills (minimal assist up to 50 lbs)
- Experience directing PT aides and coordinating treatment activities
- Clear communication with physicians, therapists, patients, and care teams
- Familiarity with Medicare and private insurance documentation requirements
- Strong organizational skills to maintain treatment areas and records
