Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring, interpret telemetry data, and escalate changes promptly
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team
• Administer medications safely and document all nursing interventions accurately in the EHR
• Respond rapidly to clinical emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Participate in unit-based competency testing and skills checks to maintain clinical excellence
• Maintain required immunizations, fit testing, and pre-employment screening to ensure patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Iowa)
• Telemetry nursing experience or strong familiarity with continuous cardiac monitoring
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification, fit test, 10-panel drug screen, and required immunizations
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Solid medical-surgical nursing knowledge including med administration and wound care
• Skilled in patient assessment, respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfortable using electronic health record systems for documentation and communication
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform under pressure during acute events
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
